RETROSPECTIVE | GENEVA INTERNATIONAL MOTOR SHOW

The 89th Geneva Motor Show 2019 was a huge success for Gumpert-AIWAYS! From 5 to 17 March 2019, car enthusiasts, futurists, dealers and representatives of the press were able to experience the latest innovations, trends and technologies in the automotive industry live at Palexpo. At the joint stand of the Chinese start-up AIWAYS and Gumpert-AIWAYS, visitors were able to gain insights into two drive technologies: the pure electric drive as in the AIWAYS U5 and the methanol fuel cell technology of the Gumpert Nathalie and Nathalie Race.

The highlights of the Geneva Motor Show

A milestone in the history of the Nathalie vehicle series. At the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, the racing version of the Nathalie super sports car was unveiled during a ceremonial press conference. The world premiere was watched live by loyal Gumpert fans and interested parties on the Instagram and YouTube platforms. In their presentation, Roland Gumpert and Nathalie Gumpert showed that methanol is the future of mobility and explained the advantages of methanol fuel cell technology as well as the technical highlights of the Nathalie Race racing car. In general, the overall impression of the AIWAYS and Gumpert-AIWAYS joint stand impressed the crowd. The bright interior and the successful symbiosis of the two partners attracted innovation enthusiasts.

What makes Nathalie and Nathalie Race the vehicle of the future?

Gumpert's innovative hydrogen vehicle features a reinforced powertrain, improved aerodynamics and modifications to the suspension, brake system and cooling system. The acceleration of the Nathalie Race from 0-100km/h is in the range of two seconds. The top speed of the series model of about 300km/h has not been modified. Gumperts goal: To compete with Nathalie Race in the FIA approved race series EPCS. The Czech racer Gabriela Jílková, who is going to be achieving great successes and breaking records with the Nathalie Race in the future, was also there. Quick Gabi will start with Nathalie Race in the middle/end of 2020. The street version of the Nathalie also shone in a new light at the Geneva Motor Show - and bright orange. Numerous press representatives and guests were enthusiastic about the futuristic design of the super sports car.

Next steps

Gumpert-AIWAYS is looking forward to the next milestones. The next milestones are the Automobile Show in Shanghai, a roadshow across Germany - more details will follow soon - and the market launch of the Gumpert Nathalie at the end of 2019/beginning of 2020.
